About the Project

Nihon No Jazu No Rekishi is a VR experience exploring the origins and evolution of jazz in Japan — blending a virtual environment built in Unreal Engine with 360-degree live performance footage by Japanese choreographer Masumi Endo.

Conceived and developed by Vital Culture UK. Currently on hold and seeking R&D funding to prototype and develop.

The Concept

• Audiences move through a virtual environment tracing jazz's journey in Japan from the early 20th century to now

• Live performance footage from Masumi Endo integrated into the virtual world

• Unreal Engine environment built to cinematic standard

• Education and entertainment in equal measure
