Future of Fashion
A hands-on workshop exploring technology, sustainability, and the future of clothing. Available to book
About the Workshop
Future of Fashion is a one-hour workshop designed for young people aged 14–17, exploring how technology and creativity are reshaping the fashion industry.
Developed by Vital Culture UK and originally proposed for the National Science & Media Museum Science Festival 2025, the workshop is fully built, resourced and ready to deliver.
How It Works
Up to 30 participants work in clusters of 5–8, responding to a single provocation:
"Imagine fashion in 2050. How can it solve today's environmental challenges while enhancing everyday life?"
The session moves through four stages:
Introduction — We introduce the themes: wearable tech, AI-driven design, sustainable materials
Idea Generation — Clusters choose a theme and brainstorm collaboratively
Hands-On Design — Participants design using VR tools (Gravity Sketch or Open Brush on VR headsets). For younger audiences or those unable to use VR headsets, a tablet-based alternative is available
Showcase & Reflection — Groups present their designs and discuss what they made
What Participants Walk Away With
